Stephen is a Research Associate at Nuvoni Centre for Innovation Research (NCIR), supporting the Urban Development Program. He is an Urban Planner with interests in urban resilience, participatory planning, digital urbanism and urban governance – with a focus on how digital technologies, urban infrastructure and governance systems shape everyday life and development outcomes in cities.
Stephen contributes to research, knowledge production, capacity building and collaborative initiatives aimed at generating locally grounded evidence for more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable urban futures in Kenya and across Africa. He is currently undertaking a Master of Arts in Environmental Policy at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy (CASELAP) of the University of Nairobi – studying the political ecology of water supply in informal settlements. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Urban Planning from the University of Nairobi.
